The room

The room matters as much as the game.

In short

We play in other people's good rooms: hotel lounges and restaurants by the sea. We have no shop of our own and want none. What we look for is easy to describe and hard to find.

i.The standard

Five things a room must have

  • On the sea, or close enough to hear it.A terrace or a room that faces the water. The coast is why most of us live here.
  • A five-star hotel or a real restaurant.A hotel lounge or terrace, or a kitchen and bar worth the trip without a game on the table.
  • A table that fits a board and elbows.Room for the game and the players, a side table for glasses, and light good enough to read a card.
  • A corner calm enough to talk.Conversation across the table without raising a voice. No speakers overhead.
  • Staff at ease with a long table.A table that stays three hours, orders properly and leaves the place as it found it.
ii.The reference

Three places in Estepona set the standard.

When we describe the room we want, these are the three we point to. A room in Marbella is held to the same standard.

Five-star hotel · A-7, km 1066 · Estepona

Hacienda del Mar

The former Kempinski Bahía, reopened in 2026 as a five-star beachfront hotel in the Meliá Collection. Light, space, and the kind of service that suits a table staying for the evening.

Guadalmansa beach · Estepona

Tikitano by Divot

A seaside restaurant built around the view: long lunches, sunset cocktails and unhurried dinners, with Mediterranean and international cooking. A long evening at one table feels natural here.

Playa del Ángel · Calle Terral 2 · Estepona

Trocadero Estepona

On the Playa del Ángel promenade: wide terraces, a Mediterranean kitchen and a serious cocktail bar. A real restaurant by the water.

To be clear

These are references, not partners. None of the three has agreed to host the club, and nothing is booked. When a room is confirmed for an evening, it is named in that evening's announcement.
