Why it lands at the table
Mansions of Madness: Second Edition is a co-operative horror game. The players are investigators in a Lovecraftian story, and an app runs the scenario: it builds the map as rooms are explored, moves the monsters and tells the story.
Exploration is slow and atmospheric. Doors open onto new rooms, clues are found, puzzles are solved, and investigators slowly lose their health and their sanity.
The best moments are reveals: the app suddenly explains what has been going on, and the group has to decide how to finish it.
