Why it lands at the table
Colt Express is a game about bandits robbing a train in the Old West. The train is built from cardboard carriages, and bandits move along it and across its roof.
Everyone plans a sequence of actions, move, shoot, rob, punch, and then the actions play out in order. Plans collide in the funniest ways.
It won the Spiel des Jahres in 2015. About forty minutes.
How it plays
- 01
Each round, players take turns playing action cards onto a shared pile.
- 02
Some rounds hide cards face down.
- 03
Resolve the pile in order: move, shoot, rob, punch, move the marshal.
- 04
Collect loot and avoid bullets.
- 05
After five rounds, the richest bandit wins.
Good for
