Why it lands at the table
7 Wonders Duel is the two-player version of 7 Wonders, by Antoine Bauza and Bruno Cathala. Over three ages, each player builds a civilisation from cards laid out in a shared structure, some face up and some hidden.
Taking a card can uncover another for your opponent, so every pick is a small calculation. You can build it, sell it for coins, or use it to raise one of your wonders.
There are three ways to win: military, science, or points at the end. The tension of a duel that could end early in either direction is what keeps people playing.
How it plays
- 01
Lay out the cards for the current age in the set pattern.
- 02
Take an available card and build it, discard it for coins, or use it to build a wonder.
- 03
Advance the conflict pawn with military cards, collect science symbols, and gather resources and points.
- 04
Play three ages.
- 05
Win at once by military or science, or by having the most points at the end.
