Why it lands at the table
Azul: Summer Pavilion is the third game in the Azul family. The same tile-drafting idea is used, but the tiles are diamonds and each player builds stars on a larger board.
Every round a different colour is wild, which changes what the market is worth. You take tiles from factories, then spend them to place pieces on your stars, keeping a few back for later.
Six rounds, a beautiful table, and a quiet satisfaction in completing a star or surrounding a statue for bonus tiles.
How it plays
- 01
Take all tiles of one colour from a factory or the centre; the round's wild colour may come with them.
- 02
When the tiles run out, take turns placing them on your board, paying the space's cost in tiles of that colour.
- 03
Score points for each tile placed next to others in the same star.
- 04
Earn bonus tiles by surrounding statues, windows and columns.
- 05
After six rounds, add star and number bonuses; the highest score wins.
