Why it lands at the table
Gang Wars is a deck-building and area control game from Redzen Games, set in the world of Scarface 1920. It is designed by David Bernal and Toni Serradesanferm.
Each player leads a gang across a city built differently each game. You run speakeasies, sell alcohol and send thugs into rival neighbourhoods while the police and Eliot Ness close in.
Four rounds, one to four players including solo; the publisher says a game takes sixty to seventy-five minutes.
How it plays
- 01
Place barrels and police, reveal an event, recruit and draw.
- 02
Play cards for actions: move thugs, sell, bribe, attack.
- 03
Complete jobs from the market for bonuses.
- 04
Police and Eliot Ness sweep neighbourhoods and make arrests.
- 05
Collect speakeasy income; after four rounds the richest boss wins.
