Why it lands at the table
Unstable Unicorns is a card game about building an army of unicorns. Everyone starts with a baby unicorn and races to be the first to fill their stable.
The fun is in the interference. Upgrades help you, downgrades are dropped on other players, unicorns are stolen, sacrificed and destroyed, and instant cards can cancel a move just as it is played.
It works best with a group that enjoys a little mischief. The memorable moment is the turn a player is one unicorn away from winning and the whole table finds a way to stop them.
How it plays

Start with five cards in hand and a baby unicorn in your stable.

Each turn, draw a card, then play one card or draw again.
- 03
Play unicorns and upgrades to your stable and downgrades to other players.
- 04
Use instant cards to block others' plays.
- 05
The first to hold seven unicorns, or six with six to eight players, wins.
Good for
- Two to eight players who enjoy taking things from each other
- A light, chatty game for a mixed group
- Thirty to forty-five minutes between heavier games
